Spelling City: I got a class membership for Spellingcity.com which is online. Here are the student logins that they can use from home. I added the lesson 3 lists. The workbook list is for the students that are completing the workbook with Mr. Cope. The Canadian Spelling list are for the students who are working in the duotangs with Ms. Jaclyn. I added another workbook list that also contains the extra challenge words.


Homework for Oct.19th

Test Envelopes: The test envelopes went home today with the Spelling test and some math sheets. Please return the signed envelope on Monday.

Math Chapter 3 Lesson 5 Page 69 #5, 6

Spelling: Lesson 7 workbook and Spelling test due Friday, October 27th.

Science: Collage due Monday. Only a couple of students didn't finish it today.

Newspaper article writing: On Tuesday, Oct. 24th, the students will be writing a newspaper article. This weekend, they are to try and find an item/event they would like to write about. It has to be real, but can be a personal event, a neighbourhood event, or a world news event. They can bring information that they have found on Tuesday.

Math: We will be finishing Chapter 3 on Data Management. The test will be next week.

Students should also be working on learning their multiplication tables. There are websites like mathplayground.com, Prodigy, and multiplication.com that allow students to practice math skills in a fun manner online.

Bible:

- On Wednesday of this week, we will have a small quiz, based on what we reviewed last week.
- Please study your notebooks (Pages 1-8) tonight, but bring them back to school tomorrow so that we can review in class.

This is a review sheet that we will go over in class tomorrow. It is simply a summary of your workbook pages.


Science: We will continue working on Unit 1 on Rocks and Minerals. This week we will be looking at fossils and soil.

Spelling: Spelling Lesson 7 workbook and test will be due on Thursday, Oct. 27th.

(Please note that because our books are American, I always allow the students to either write the American or Canadian version of a word). The extra challenge words are optional for the students.

Literacy: We will be working on a newspaper article unit. The students are to think of a real life event that they would be able to write an article about.


Novel Study: We will be reading Chapters 17-20 in Winn Dixie and answering Questons.


Social Studies: Our first unit in social studies will be Ancient Egypt.
This week, we will continue our learning on Egyptian pyramids with a look at the Great Pyramid.
